Improvised, crowded and vital are appropriate adjectives for conventional »student digs« which often offer little room for clear structures. Several different living scenarios come together at the same place. In search of classical cases which confirm this conclusion I came across the »coffee table« which often has to maintain a clash of work- and private life. Here you eat, rest, store and work. How can a place with such high requirements be organized? By simply pulling the table plate apart it supplies plenty of storage space, so that the work area can be cleared quickly. The slot on the top of the table can be used as a handle as well as a cable guide for laptop and other electronic devices. The appearance of this coffee table is characterized by clarity and it’s construction. Without any complicated intermediate steps this coffee table is produced with CNC milling and can easily be assembled by the end user. The table is built out of 15 mm plywood with a white melamine coating. Due to the design that is fit for CNC production, color and dimensions can be customized easily.
